In the early 2000s, I was working for GE in India when I got an opportunity to transfer to the US on an L1-A visa.

Unlike an H1-B visa, which allows you to switch jobs, the L1-A visa meant I had to stay with the same company if I wanted to continue working in the US.

That's why, when you buy a packet of Maggi noodles (or anything else for that matter) outside India, it is not an exact currency conversion of the INR amount that it's sold for in India but rather adjusted to purchasing power parity.  

For eg. a can of coke costs about ₹50 in India and about $2 in the US. This is different from currency conversion because ₹50 is much lesser than a dollar. So the purchasing power parity right now between INR and USD is about ₹25 which means that the value of ₹25 is about the same as value of $1 in terms of what you can buy from it.

And that's how this course is priced as well.
