Decisive Action

3 powerful ways to address decision-anxiety, and propel your career forward

Does making critical career decisions give you anxiety?

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you, at times, find yourself absolutely stuck... almost as though you can't move... out of fear of making the wrong decision?

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you find yourself to be in an endless search for information so that you make a good decision?

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Are you constantly researching to the point of information overwhelm?

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you seek inputs from others and then end up getting completely confused?

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you look to others for their suggestions in the hope that it will make your decision-making easier only to get even more anxious!

What if you were able to...

🌟 Make data-backed decisions even in the midst of conflicting opinions

🌟 Have clarity about the path that is right for *you*

🌟 Have calm confidence that the decision you're making is well thought-through

That's what my masterclass on Decisive Action will teach you to do!

How does what I teach help you propel your career?

Hear it from *Abheesh Dinavahi, Head of Customer Success at Almabase in San Francisco...

*Abheesh engaged in a highly personalised leadership coaching programme with me.

I teach in this masterclass what was earlier privy only to my one on one clients!

My biggest USP, as Abheesh points out as well, is to provide you with simple, incremental and tremendously rigorous methods that can elevate your ability to make high quality decisions, and help you advance in your career!

I have a couple of questions for you...

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you have a tendency to ask others to make decisions for you?

Think about the last time you went to a restaurant, did you order what you wanted clearly and confidently or did you tell your friend/spouse/whoever you went with, "Hey, you order... I'll have whatever you're having!"

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you tend to get overwhelmed with endless research trying to make the perfect decision?

Ask yourself how many reviews did you check the last time you picked a new restaurant to go to? And even after reading scores of reviews, did you feel like you were nowhere close to a decision!

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Do you tend to seek assurances for the future asking others, "Do you think this decision will work out?"

And whatever answer the other person gives you doesn't satisfy you!
If they say, yes, your mind comes up with all the reasons as to why it may not work out!

Alternatively, if they say no, you feel disappointed because intrinsically, you want it to work out!

And if they say, β€œI don’t know”, it only adds to your confusion because you’re nowhere close to an answer!

Does this resonate?

I took the example of picking a restaurant which is a decision that barely has any ramification on your life... so think how much tougher career decisions are since they have a lasting impact!

The biggest reason for indecisiveness is lack of data

Let me give you an example to illustrate this.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Think of something you absolutely hate to eat.
Now, if someone offered you a dish made with that ingredient, you'll most likely politely decline. You won't be indecisive about it because you are sure that you don't like this ingredient.

Now let's take the opposite scenario.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Think of something you love to eat.
If someone offered you a dish made with this ingredient, you'd love to try it out. You won't be indecisive because, once again, you have enough past data that you love food made with this ingredient!

In both these cases, you have past data that gives you innate confidence to make a decision! And hence, you're not indecisive.

Ok, now here's a twist. Let's say someone suggests you accompany them for a meal to an Ethiopian restaurant.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ If you've never tried Ethiopian food, you'll probably be indecisive about this.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ You'll wonder if it would be a worthwhile experience... worse still, if it would be a waste of money.

So what's happening here? Why are you indecisive?
It's because you don't have data on whether or not you like Ethiopian food!

When we don't have data about a situation or an option, we end up being under-confident of our ability to make a decision which, in turn, leads to indecisiveness.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ When we are unable to decide something, it is because we don't have innate confidence in our ability to make the right choice.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ So, we often resort to decision-delegation, the urge to delegate the decision to others when the options seem overwhelming!

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ At the outset, this seems like a good idea but it has repercussions and can be quite damaging in the long run!

In my free training, I explain...

πŸ“Œ 4 huge drawbacks you need to be aware of when asking other people’s *opinions* regarding a decision!

And

πŸ“Œ 1 actionable step that you need to take instead, which can still help you take other people’s experiences into account, while making a decision that’s right for *you*!
